Vaccination is the most effective defense against flu viruses. So, it behooves you to ensure that your employees get flu shots every year at the start of flu season and during outbreaks. One strategy is to implement a policy requiring employees to be vaccinated. Caveat: Mandatory vaccination policies may result in protests and expose your organization to legal risks. Such policies are justifiable only if you can show it’s an essential health and safety measure, that it’s no broader than it needs to be and that it leaves rooms for exemptions and accommodations required by human rights laws.
