The fact that 1 in 2 HR manager respondents listed either hiring or firing as their biggest challenge (at 25% each) was quite predictable. What none of us expected was that securing support of management would prove to be the biggest vote getter at 31%. I guess it’s a pretty good indication of the insecurity HR managers seem to be experiencing.
Also grabbing votes were reviewing employee performance at 13% and employee contracting at 6%. Surprisingly, maximizing productivity, a traditional HR challenge, didn’t garner a single vote in our survey.
