The WCHSB officially adopted new WHMIS rules to bring Yukon chemical safety requirements into line with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS). The changes contained in so called “WHMIS 2015,” which replaces “WHMIS 1988,” affect:
- How hazardous chemicals are classified
- The look and required information in WHMIS supplier and workplace labels
- The look and required information in Material Safety Data Sheets—which are now called Safety Data Sheets, or SDS.
