Do hiring exceptions legally exist for a faith based organization who needs staff to align to their same faith needs such as a church, or international NGO linked to a church?

Yes, a faith based organization must prove religion is a job requirement to discriminate in its hiring practices. For example, at a Catholic school, if religion is a part of the curriculum, the school could make being a practicing Catholic a job requirement; however, that same school would have more difficulty making the same case for a janitorial position.
