New Laws 

Feb 18: Building construction investment in Saskatchewan rose 21.8% in December, the second highest year-over-year growth of any province. Month-over-month growth was also robust at 10.1%. Overall, Saskatchewan's 2024 real GDP reached an all-time high of $83.6 billion, increasing $2.5 billion or 3.1%, second in the nation for real GDP growth and above the national average of 1.7%.  

Workplace Violence 

Jan 22: In response to recent incidents, Saskatchewan launched a comprehensive, independent review of safety and security at hospitals in the province. The panel will consider both physical security and cultural safety environment measures to improve safety for hospital patients, staff, and visitors. in hospital settings.

Workplace Violence 

Feb 17: Saskatchewan announced that it's providing approximately $1.46 million in additional National Action Plan to End Gender-based Violence funding to support 10 organizations and programs across the province, including $280,000 for the Provincial Association of Transition Houses and Services of Saskatchewan (PATHS).

Workers' Compensation 

Feb 2: The Saskatchewan WCB issued a new policy on how it will handle appeals involving individual rights under the Charter and Constitution. The agency implemented the new policy and procedures in response to a Supreme Court of Canada ruling finding that administrative tribunals, like the WCB, have jurisdiction, that is, legal authority, to hear appeals involving such rights.
