I would like to know if pay in lieu of notice is required when terminating within the 3 month probationary period if there was a clause in the offer letter signed that within the 3 months we can terminate the employment for any reason.
No, during the probationary period you do not need to pay in lieu of notice – there are no severance requirements during this period.
