Internally we have used an assessment through Sandler Sales Training, personality tests, aptitude tests, and others with varied levels of success – honestly, no better statistically than without. It really wasn’t until we read Grit, by Angela Duckworth, and Who, by Geoff Smart, and implemented some of the key findings from these two books that we really started to hire more entrepreneurial and driven employees – key for a good sales rep.
