Bonus while on Maternity Leave

Hello,
I have an employee that is currently on Maternity leave, during which time has found new employment and left the position with us.
Before she left in 2021 – she earned some bonuses that were to be paid out in 2022. I was waiting for her return to work (in 2022) to pay them out.
As the employee is not longer returning are these bonus still owed to her and should I be communicating to her that once they are paid a new ROE will be issued to reflect these amounts.

Yes, because the bonuses were based on her 2021 work before her leave, they are considered a part of her compensation even if they were paid out while on leave. The fact that she decided not to come back to work after her maternity leave does not mean she is not entitled to payment of the bonus.
