Hi There! BC Employer here. I have received a request from a private investigator on behalf of ICBC to provide information on a former employee who was in a car accident. I have confirmed with ICBC that the investigator is working on their behalf. The questions asked are pretty in-depth and they want me to sign a "Consent for the Collection, Use and Disclosure of Personal Information." I am concerned about a PIPA violation. Are employers required to disclose employee information to investigators working for ICBC? What information am I obligated to disclose?
