Workplace Safety—Incident Reporting

New OHS rules contained in erstwhile Bill 35 took effect:

• Immediate reporting of workplace fires or explosions to WorkSafeBC
• Providing copies of preliminary and full incident reports in connection with such fires or explosions to JHSC or health/safety rep
• JHSC advising on significant proposed equipment/machinery changes affecting worker health and safety
• WorkSafeBC right to take proactive role in helping employers and JHSC resolve disagreements.
