Roofing Company, Supervisor & Two Workers Face OHS Charges

During two inspections, an OHS Officer saw workers on a roof incorrectly using fall protection equipment. For example, they failed to attach harnesses to the existing anchorages or incorrectly connected the harness to the equipment. Additionally, the supervisor wasn’t present during either inspection. The roofing company was charged with failing to provide the necessary supervision to ensure the safety of workers and to ensure that workers were provided with a suitable fall protection system. The supervisor was charged with failing to ensure that workers under his supervision used equipment that’s required under regulation.
