Hiring of Privacy Professionals Increases

Concerns about privacy issues have companies adding to staff.

Job postings for privacy professionals increased 56 percent for the last three months of 2011 in comparison to the same period the previous year, according to WANTED Analytics, a provider of business intelligence for the talent marketplace based in Quebec City. Job ads for privacy jobs jumped approximately 115 percent from two years ago.

The most commonly advertised job title in the fourth quarter of 2011 was Computer Security Specialist. Other popular jobs included Security Privacy Consultant (or Analyst), Privacy Officer, Customer Privacy Manager, Compliance Privacy Manager, and Health Systems Privacy Compliance Specialist.
