In 2007, the threat was avian influenza; in 2010, the fear was H1N1. 2019 started a years long battle with COVID-19 that changed the way we view infectious illnesses, public health, and disease control. Next year or the year after, it’s bound to be something else. The fact of the matter is that infectious illness, be it SARS or swine flu, has become a recognized hazard—and one that can decimate your business. It has now become incumbent on organizations to prepare for disruptions and institute plans to maintain operations in the event of pandemic.
