Can an employer force an employee to apply for long term disability?

It's hard to answer that Q without a little more context. For example, requiring employees to apply for disability and other kinds of benefits might be acceptable as part of an employer insurance or health plan. On the other hand, an employer can't force a disabled employee to retire and apply for LTD instead of working. Pls. provide a bit more detail or send me a note at glennd@bongarde.com if you want to talk directly. Thx. Glenn
