Hello, Do employers have an obligation to pay a portion of internet expenses for remote workers? If so, what are the requirements by province?  Thanks so much!

Currently there are no laws that require employers to reimburse Internet expenses for their remote workers. However, many companies do provide some coverage for their remote workers' Internet access. If Internet is crucial to the job it may be reasonable to have some portion of remote worker's Internet expenses covered and employer's should be cautious of the ESA prohibition on requiring employees to fund business costs. "In accordance with section 85.1 of the Act respecting labour standards  (LSA), we can immediately conclude that the employer does not have to assume all the costs. However, concern over the efficiency of the work equipment, computer security and the protection of confidential information, work documents and certain conversations may lead the employer to supply the equipment." - The Challenges Of Remote Work...
