EEO (canada) – EEO/OFCCP (US) – recruitment questions

Hi there – are we able to add EEO questions to our job application process on a non-mandatory basis in canada?  I am asking if we can ask questions like gender, ethnic background etc as part of the job application process, on a voluntary basis?
We operate in Ontario and BC mainly and hoping to figure out to get data for DEI purposes.
