Can an Employee change their employment agreement in Ontario after they signed two years ago? I received a request like this from a manager to change the amount of resignation notice paragraph in the employee agreement regarding what the employee has to give the employer when leaving the organization. When they signed their employment agreement in 2018 the document outlined 4 weeks. They have emailed me asking me to change their agreement and reduce it to 2 weeks. We prefer 4 weeks for managers due to planning and impact but could accept 2 weeks. My bigger concern is the employment agreement and how an employee initiated change request might impact the employer. I’ve never had this request.
